Rhetoric is imposed into many of the advertisements we see every day. Advertising companies use these images of visual rhetoric to appeal to the consumers’ needs so that they may sell more of whatever they are trying to sell. This particular advertisement displays a Mini Cooper positioned in front of an escalator so that it looks like all the people going down the escalator are getting into the car. This sort of allusion symbolizes that the Mini Cooper, though a very compact car, has a large amount of space for passengers. This image was portrayed in a way to appeal to consumers who wish to own a small, fuel efficient car but also a car with a fairly large amount of passenger space.Blog Archive
